Good News, Bad News: Drunkard Edition

Good News: Hmm...not really coming up with anything here.
Bad News: Discuss hot men (or women) with your husband and husband's good friend whilst drunk (note: hot man: Will Smith.  Also, Samuel L. Jackson.  The trend here seems to be pretty basic--badass black dudes, at least in movies).

Good News: Still nothing.
Bad News:  Blogging whilst drunk, especially when your account is directly linked with your internship.

Good News:  Cooking for your father-in-law for Father's Day (hey, I came up with one!)
Bad News:  Cooking for your father-in-law for Father's Day when you will probably be severely, severely hungover.

Good News:  Enjoying a pint or two of quality beer at a pub you love.
Bad News: Enjoying a pint or 8 (guessing here) at a pub you love.  When you're damn near 30.  And haven't been able to drink like you're 18 since you were 19.

Good News:  Seriously, I'm boned on this one.
Bad News:  Drunk blogging.

That is all (this works better in the M*A*S*H movie voice).

Good News, Bad News: Jobs Edition

Good News: I just got offered (and accepted) a job with Hadfield's (a sandwich/bakery type place), and I start next week
Bad News: It starts next week

Good News: Kellie comes to visit next week
Bad News: Kellie comes to visit next week, and I can't take time off of work

Good News: I lied about "Travels and Travails" being my next blog post (but it will be the next one)
Bad News: I lied about "Travels and Travails" being my next blog post (but it will be the next one)

So yes, I will post next (probably this afternoon) about my trip over here.  But I figured being employed warranted a post first.  Hadfield's is a local bakery chain.  They make sandwiches and pasties and cakes and the like, and I would be a shop girl.  Basic stuff, but actually what I want to do.  And it's part time, which is a bonus in my mind, as I'll be able to continue doing all the housework and such (yay...).  It also means I can keep writing--or start again; this week has been busy with other crap as it's the first week I've had with Adam back at work--which is nice.  It won't be a lot of money, but it should help us tremendously.

Good News, Bad News Strikes Again

Good News: I'm finally posting again
Bad News: It's not about the wedding or my trip over here

Good News: For the people who don't care
Bad News: For the people who do care

Good News: Adam and I ordered a new bookcase (with drawers on the bottom) to hold more of our crap
Bad News: It was delivered missing 12 rather necessary screws (to install runners for said drawers)

Good News: We have water and electricity, and can afford to pay for it (and do, which may be considered bad news)
Bad News: The company who supplies all of our utilities is threatening to shut us off due to an unpaid balance on the account, which may or may not belong to us

Good News: Adam ordered a new mobile phone to replace his defuct old one
Good News: It was set to arrive today

Bad News: They keep asking him for information that they already have before they ship out the phone
Bad News: They asked for that information today, and thus the phone hasn't arrived (that they scheduled to deliver today)

Good News: The UK allowed me into the country without hassle
Good News: I am allowed to work legally

Bad News: I apparently have no credit standing in this country (no bills in my name, no job)
Bad News: Barclay's Bank will not add me to Adam's bank account because of this, despite it being ADAM'S money, not theirs

Good News: I have a job interview tomorrow
Bad News: None related to that really

Good News: If I get it, the job is part-time at a sandwich/bakery type place a five minute walk away from home
Bad News: The job is only part time.  And I will have to fight Adam for any free food I may or may not receive as a benefit of working there

That concludes this, the second edition of Good News, Bad News.  I dearly love writing these, so I must endeavor to do so more often.

Next up: Travels and Travails (man, I love the neat things you can do with the English language!)

Good News, Bad News: Home Remedies Edition

Good News: I found the plastic syringe type thing that Adam got for me.
Bad News: I had to spend 5 minutes digging for it before I finally remembered where I put it.

Good News: We had white (well, distilled malt) vinegar.
Bad News: Apparently we need to buy white wine vinegar (so I can make salad dressing).

Good News: I know how to treat yeast infections without spending buckets of money on creepy cremes.
Bad News: It's been a long time since I've done it, and I forgot to dilute the vinegar. BURNING! AHHH!

Good News: I probably will only need the one treatment to kill off the bad yeasties (see Bad News above).
Bad News: Did I mention the burning? AHHHH!

That concludes this edition of Good News, Bad News. Although I apologize for the excessive amounts of personal information contained herein, if you or someone you know gets yeast infections, they can be treated without dropping $18 on a 3 day box of nasty chemicals. You know, the box that also contains a coupon for $3 off your next box--but the coupon expired 3 months prior to your purchasing the thing. So you're doubly pissed: you have a yeast infection, and it cost you loads of money and there's no discount in case you get another one (which if you do, will be more resistant to those chemical treatments the next time).

Eat lots of yogurt with the natural bacterias still alive (not pre/probiotics, these are something else)--in a pinch you can supposedly take plain (non flavoured/sweetened) yogurt and use it "up there" but I haven't tried. Or, you can dilute some white vinegar (don't try this with balsamic) with water and douche with that. Please though, don't forget to dilute it--I'll hear your screams from half a world away. It'll take a few treatments of this--maybe 2-3 times a day--but much cheaper, far more natural, and if you get a really bad infection, THEN go spend the money.
